Bio:

Born in Ukraine, raised in Russia, and now based in the U.S., Alina Madan blends the essence of three cultures in her art. Though trained in finance and economics, her heart has always belonged to art. As a child, Alina explored art with watercolors, chalk, and charcoal, and later discovered her love for oil paints. Self-taught and driven, she deepened her skills with lessons in Russia and has since evolved into a dedicated artist.

Alina primarily works with oil paints and a palette knife on stretched canvas, creating serene, dreamlike scenes that blend reality and imagination. Her works often reflect the calming beauty of nature, especially water, which she finds endlessly inspiring.

Now living in Maple Grove, MN, Alina’s art is exhibited locally, with pieces held in private collections around the world.

Statement:

My art is a place of peace—a retreat for the mind. I use oils, embracing the texture of stretched canvas, and work with simple tools: a palette knife, my hands, and cloth. Nature, especially water, speaks to me, inspiring reflections of oceans, rainy streets, and imagined landscapes.

Each painting reveals more than a place; it’s a moment of stillness and imagination.
