This was a sunny calm day of early spring. I had been keeping the picture of the Saratov park*** for the special mood and seems like for the special day. Thank you to the national geographic for the photograph:The painting session promised to be harmonious and smooth as I knew from the beginning all the necessary steps.
I used water mixable oil paints (white+ultramarine) to create the underwash. After that I switched to regular oils using palette knife and brushes sometimes:
Adding colors created the mood of the painting. I purposefully made the painting lighter to show luminous quietness 🙂 I emphasized the effect of the fog on the background as well.
Later deeper/darker colors were added because in the morning the painting seemed to be too light to me:
