16*20 oil on stretched canvas Summer 2014
I painted the “Poppy seeds in the grass” following the Igor Sakharov’s youtube lesson .
Mostly created with palette knife. Used brush for underpainting only.
I enjoyed using the palette knife. Amazing how this sharp piece can create such delicate touches and fine details.
The impasto technique allowed me to to create three-dimensional , sculptural looking flowers and grass, to create vibrant colors and colors transitions.
I love the resulting painting and look at it with pleasure every day as it is in my bedroom now 🙂
